Welcome to Agatha and the Slugs Privacy Policy page

This little corner of the internet is about midlife, mental health, menopause, gardening, and the other bits and bobs. This privacy policy I care about your privacy as much as I care about the bees, so here’s how your information is collected and used when you visit my site.

🪴 Information I Collect

When you use this website, a few types of information may be collected:

Comments: When you leave a comment, WordPress stores your name, email address, and IP address. This helps prevent spam and lets me reply if needed.

Contact form: If you send a message via the contact form, your name and email address are collected so I can respond to you directly.

Subscriptions: If you choose to follow the blog or subscribe by email, your address is securely stored by WordPress.com or Jetpack so you can receive updates when new posts are published.

Analytics: Like most websites, I use Jetpack and Google Analytics to see which posts are most popular and how visitors find the site. This includes anonymous data such as pages visited, time spent, and general location (country/city level).

🌸 How I Use Your Information

Your data is used only for:

Sending you new posts if you’ve subscribed

Responding to your messages or comments

Understanding how the website is used so I can improve it

I don’t sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone else. Ever.

🍪 Cookies

Cookies are small text files that help the website remember your preferences and collect anonymous usage data.
This site uses cookies from:

WordPress and Jetpack (for functionality and visitor stats)

Google Analytics (to understand traffic and improve content)

You can manage your cookie preferences through the banner when you first visit or by changing your browser settings. For more details, see the cookie notice.

🌼 How Long I Keep Your Data

Comments (and related metadata) are kept indefinitely so conversations make sense.

Contact form submissions are stored only as long as needed to reply.

Subscriber details are kept until you unsubscribe (you can do that anytime via the link in your email).

🐝 Your Rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

Access the personal data I hold about you

Ask for corrections or deletions

Withdraw consent for data collection (unsubscribe, delete cookies, etc.)

If you’d like to do any of these things, please contact me using the form on the Contact page.

🌿 Links to Other Websites

I include links to other blogs or helpful resources. Once you leave this site, please remember that I don’t have control over how other websites collect or use your information, so it’s a good idea to check their privacy policies too.

🌻 Updates to This Privacy Policy

This policy may be updated occasionally as the blog grows or new tools are added. The date above will always show when it was last revised.

🐌 Final Note

I built Agatha and the Slugs as a kind, honest, and creative space. Your privacy and trust matter to me — thank you for visiting, reading, and sharing in this little world of soil and stories.

A vintage olive-green typewriter with “Privacy Policy” on the page, beside a mug of tea and a potted plant — calm and transparent, like Agatha and the Slugs.
